Legends of Zita the Spacegirl # 2 - This one was much better

Legends of Zita the Spacegirl - Ben Hatke

For more in depth on style, drawing, etc. please see my review of the first book.

This was a great continuation of Zita's story. Piper is reaping the benefits of her fame of saving a world while she just wants to go home. However, as recalled robot has fixated on Zita's fame and tries to take her place. As one made to assume a person's identity, the robot fools most people, including her friends for a time, leaving Zita no choice but the chase after her and try to return. However, in the process, she's branded a criminal and escape may prove costly.

I liked how we saw Zita, a young girl, finding it difficult to handle her fame and even run away from it. Mouse again plays a big part, which I liked, though the book ended with me very worried about him. We also met some new friends, ones Piper has a past with. The ending was, again, some what predictable yet still very good and quite touching.

Part of what I love about this series are all the non-human beings populariting it. I've seen only four humans (two warped from Earth) and one blue human-like being. The rest are all manner kids might imagine: tentacles, fuzzy creatures with fezzes (cuz fezzes are cool!), blobs, robots, and many others. I love this rich universe of beings.

I really enjoyed this one, though hate it ended on a cliffhanger. Curse you book (and library which doesn't have the third one yet)!
