SPOILER ALERT!

Crapclassics # 2: Little Women

Little Women - Louisa May Alcott

Here I am, further proving there is something wrong with me.

On paper (hee, hee), I should love this book. Historical fiction set around the American Civil War, one of the main protagonists wants to be a writer, really good female characters: what's not to like?

And I did like it, for the first half-ish section of the book. Oh, even then it was irking me but I persevered and kept hoping Jo would be focused on mostly on every page to come. Amy and me, we were really not friends, but oh, I loved Beth! (Doesn't everybody?)

And then she died, which was tragic and I totally cried. But then every single character goes...crazy and I don't think I made it another chapter. I physically couldn't. Yes, I was a wimp and yes I should (and will...probably) pick this book up again at some point but when you throw a library book across the room when you consider dog-earing to be a sin against books, it's time to step away...slowly.
