Degrees of Affection

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this. I like Dave McKean's style; I like Neil Gaiman's work even when I find him hard to read at times, such as in the some of the Sandman stories (though most of that came from the art work rather then the text).

I had a very visceral reaction to this book. I can't quite say I hated it but I strongly dislike it and have zero plans to ever read it again. I'd take it back to the library tonight if I could. I can't really explain my reaction to this book. It might have something to do with the whole hair thing. I've never particularly liked historical hair fashions that stood so long...things got in them, Urban legends of the same, etc. That is the only thing I can think of that comes close to explaining why I instantly disliked this book so much.

Urgh. I need a new book quickly.
