Consider the Fork: A History of How We Cook and Eat - Bee Wilson, Alison Larkin

This is extremely fascinating! I'm learning a great deal about cooking practices around the world, and how those created and changed the knives, pots, and other implements used to fix food forever.

The author's style sounds as if it's the two of you sitting down over coffee and she's giving you a brief history of the different utensils your discussion brings up. It's very laid back, full of personal anecdotes such as her talking about a knife class she took after slicing into her thumb.

The narrator captures this quite well and I'm thoroughly enjoying this!
