Yeah! More books to read..."But they were a great price!"
So I had a little over $27 burning a hole on my Nook account - early Christmas gift card - and I was fully prepared to wait and see what books caught my fancy.
I swear I really planned to wait.
Until a chance look on BN.com lead me to realize that a bunch of P&P pastiches were on sale for $1.99, one was even .99! These were ones I want to read but weren't sure I wanted to expend the full price on because I'd heard such differing accounts. Even ones I end up all but hating, I've been glad I read once because I simply love to see these author's imaginative situations they visit upon our beloved Darcy and Elizabeth.
I'd only recently heard about Darcy and Fitzwilliam, so when I saw the sale price versus the usual price, I gave in, I gave up, and...a few others came with it. In my defense, they really were at great prices.
But the one I'm focusing on for immediate reading is The Big Book of Christmas Mysteries. It'd actually seen it advertised on GR, yeah I know, and it sounded like something right up my alley. The copy at the bookstore looked great and made me want to read it even more, but I couldn't justify the price. So I checked it out on my Nook and found the formatting surprisingly easy to read. I wasn't sure if I could, but I wanted to try to read it in time for Christmas.
So now it's going on my currently reading shelf and the rest into my TBR Jar.
I'm looking forward to these!
