Dragonbreath # 2 - Attack of the Ninja Frogs - I need a bus system like this!
As this is the second book in the series, if you want to check out my thoughts on the first book, they can be found here.
You know, a part of me really loves Danny. I had an overactive imagination as a child, still do really, and scenes like the one where he's the leader of a samurai clan remind me of my own imaginary worlds I inhabited. Course I liked school a lot more then Danny does, so Wendell also holds a special place in my heart.
The first story was fun, exciting, and rather cute (not in any way boys would object to but for an adult reading them) and this one was no different. Danny's new obsession is ninjas and kung fu movies and of course trouble is going to find this young mythical being. In his defense, this time it's not entirely his fault. Wendell becomes friends with a foreign exchange salamander, Suki, from Japan. Wen a ninja clan tries to kidnap her at the school (because doesn't that happen all the time!), Danny and Wendell have to help her. Along the way, we not only learn some very neat ninja facts, but we also get to meet another family member of Danny's!
I have to say these books has been one of the best children's series I've read in awhile, particularly for boys. I wish this had been around when I was growing up. I can't wait to pick up the next one.
Oh and if you're intrigued about the bus system...read the book to find out!
Good reading to all!
